Nuremberg
Town and Country
Nuremberg is more than 950 years old and is a town that is both modern and rich in tradition, with around half a million inhabitants.
At its borders, Nuremberg’s building developments have almost merged together with its neighboring towns of Fürth, Erlangen, Stein and Schwabach. The Reichswald Forest is located in and around the town, and is popular for recreational activities. The Knoblauchland, which is the largest continuous market gardening acreage in Bavaria, is also located just on the outskirts of the town. The town is surrounded by attractive landscapes such as Franconian Switzerland and the Franconian Lake District.

Infrastructure and Accommodation
The basic monthly rent per square meter was around €5.9 a month in 2009, which is very reasonable compared with other cities. Whether you live alone, together with your family or in a shared apartment, anything is possible and apartments are always available. New buildings are also being permanently constructed.
The public transport network is very well designed, and it is possible to reach any part of the town without using a car.
The Nuremberg network of city railway and subway, buses and streetcars as well as the wide-ranging connections with the urban areas is very good, and the first driverless subway in Germany has been in operation since 2008.
