ETIHAD HOLIDAYS is using OCEAN to boost their customer sales
28 Apr 2009 – Since 2008 Etihad Holidays, the tour operator of the National Airline of the United Arab Emirates, is using OCEAN from ISO as central reservation system.
The system is used in the central reservation department and has just recently been released in six high quality shops that have been opened in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Al Ain. Customers have the opportunity to inform themselves about the variety of trips to all destinations Etihad Airways is flying to and book their trips directly in the shop. The equivalent documents such as confirmation and voucher are being printed straight after having received payment in the shop and can be handed out to the customers. The so called "signature hotels" are specially promoted and put in the front of the shop. There are offers that contain special hotels in the designated destinations that Etihad is flying to. Additionally monthly special offers are created to promote and sell special packages (in London for example including tickets for a Premier League game). Etihad has also created mobile sales desks that are being used for special occasions or additionally in malls or lobbies of larger companies. OCEAN is also fully integrated in these desks and trips are also being sold directly including the printing of travel documents and vouchers that can be handed directly to the client.
