Hackathon Lufthansa Group

Lufthansa Systems and SWISS are organizing a hackathon in which the blockchain solution Camino will be used.

The aim is to revolutionize travel sales and purchasing. To this end, the travel services of the Lufthansa Group and other providers will be requested via the Camino Messenger in the L1 Camino Network and packaging via on-chain transactions will be made possible at the time of booking.

The focus here is on “search-price-book-pay-issue” transactions. Each team will develop specific use cases, including the integration of additional services or new technologies, such as AI agents. By combining AI agents and the Camino Messenger for intermodal travel, a new era of dynamic travel products can be ushered in. The three-day hackathon will end with a team pitch event.

The Camino Network, initiated by Chain4Travel, is a blockchain-based travel ecosystem designed to connect industry partners and enable secure, efficient and decentralized transactions.

We as the ISO-Gruppe, will support the hackathon teams as a technology consultant and mentor and contribute our technological experience with the integration of the Messenger network not only for flight distribution.

In the run-up to the hackathon, ISO is already supporting SBB (Schweizerische Bundesbahnen) to establish a connection to the Camino Messenger.  The aim is to use AI and the Camino Messenger protocol to make SBB's content available for the dynamic compilation of train and flight connections in a single request.

We are excited to see what innovative applications the participants of this hackathon will implement during this event.
